Love and Gatherings

Love & Gatherings came to us at a pivotal moment. A decade-old brand that had served them well — distinctive, edgy, confidently niche — but one that no longer reflected where the business had grown. Their client had shifted from the trend-conscious domestic couple to the discerning international one. The brand needed to follow.

The brief was precise and considered: elevate without erasing. Maintain the edge that had always distinguished Love & Gatherings from the mainstream, but bring it into a register that felt genuinely luxurious — quieter, more refined, more confident in its own skin. Contemporary enough to feel current, restrained enough to feel timeless.

The Challenge

Rebranding an established business is a different creative problem to building one from scratch. The equity in the existing identity — the recognition, the personality, the sense of place — had to be preserved while everything surface-level was reconsidered. Too much change and it stops being Love & Gatherings. Too little and nothing meaningfully shifts.

The website presented an equally specific challenge: ten years of content, services and portfolio work, restructured into something that felt editorial and experience-led rather than information-heavy. The goal was to lead with emotion and atmosphere, not with text.

Brand Refresh

Rather than starting from zero, we took what existed and rebuilt it with intention. The logo was refined — its essential character kept, its execution brought forward. The colour palette moved away from its original tones into something more considered: a base of warm cream anchored by a deliberate pop of red. On the Irish market, where neutrals dominate, it is immediately distinctive without being loud. A quiet confidence rather than a statement.

The typography was entirely reconsidered. We developed a system built around three voices: an artistic serif for elegance and presence, a clean editorial sans for clarity and structure, and a touch of handwritten script for warmth and personality. Together they create a brand that feels luxurious but never cold — refined but never without soul.

Website

The new website was designed around a single principle: portfolio first, information second. Couples and clients should feel something before they read anything. The previous site led with text; the new one leads with atmosphere.

Layouts were rebuilt from the ground up — away from static, text-heavy pages toward an interactive, scroll-driven experience that unfolds like the celebrations Love & Gatherings plans. Services were restructured to reflect the current offering clearly and confidently. The portfolio received a complete overhaul, presented as a curated editorial showcase rather than a gallery of images. A new venues section was introduced, functioning as both a practical resource and an ongoing content channel with long-term SEO value.

User navigation and flow were considered at every level — every click intentional, every transition purposeful. The overall experience communicates taste, care and a genuine sense of the people behind the business.

Before / After

A brand and website that honours a decade of reputation while making an unmistakable case for the next chapter. Love & Gatherings now presents with the visual authority of a luxury international planning studio — without losing the personality and approachability that has always been at the heart of what they do.

The edge is still there. It's just wearing better clothes.

“Katerina's attentive, efficient and patient manner of working made the project a pleasure. Coupled with all that, her design eye is excellent; she really understood what I wanted to achieve & I couldn’t believe how quickly she brought it to life.”
